HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SAPHIRA CREATION
We believe that every person and moment are special, and so are our pieces. Such precious jewellery requires love and care. In order to extend the life of your creation and guarantee its outstanding condition, please follow the guidelines below:
- Always remove your jewellery prior to engaging in activities such as swimming in pools, the ocean, in hot tubs or mineral pools.
- Take your jewellery off prior to showering, applying perfumes, lotions and oils, cosmetics, make up or similar daily rituals.
- Do not use your jewellery when performing household chores that involve the use of harsh chemicals or fertilisers, such as washing dishes, cleaning or gardening, etc.
- Refrain from wearing your jewellery when practising any strenuous exercises such as gym activities, weight-lifting, contact sports or any activities during which your jewellery could be affected by trauma.
- If your piece contains Pearls, extra care and attention is required, and please refrain from exposing them to water.
- In between wears, always store your jewellery in its box for safekeeping or anywhere that avoids rubbing against other jewellery.
With some simple care, your jewellery will maintain its brilliance and beauty over the decades!
The Saphira sparkle ritual
With daily wear, your jewellery can attract oils, creams, hand sanitisers, makeup etc., that can make your jewellery dirty. This can result in a temporary loss of sparkle and lustre. Therefore, cleaning is required in order to maintain the brilliance of your pieces. Simply follow our Saphira 4-step Sparkle Ritual once every 1-2 weeks, or whenever you notice your piece needs some TLC to return it to its ideal condition:
- Soak your jewellery in a solution of near-boiling water and a few drops of mild dishwashing liquid for around 10-15 minutes, so that the soapy water can break down all the dirt and oils.
- Gently brush your jewellery with the Saphira Sparkle Ritual Brush or a soft bristle toothbrush, using that soapy water to wash off any dirt that is now loose. Use the brush to reach every side of your piece, edges and hard to reach places that could collect most of the dirt and oil.
- Rinse your jewellery with clean water.
- Dry your jewellery with a lint-free cloth.
Please remember to perform your Sparkle Ritual in a bowl. To minimise the risk of loss, do not rinse or soak your jewellery in a sink. By following the Saphira Sparkle Ritual, professional cleaning will only be required once per year.
To remove light superficial scratches, you can finish your Sparkle Ritual by buffing the metal with our Saphira Polishing Cloth. You can perform this extra step once every 1-3 months. Deeper scratches and dents can be removed during our professional servicing.
